Audio Divina
in which David John Lang listens to music, thinks about music, and sometimes tries to write it
About this Blog
Originally, this blog was just for recording my thoughts about other people's music I had listened to. So there are some "reviews" of concerts I've attended, and some writings about a few pieces of music I've conducted.
I've long resisted sharing much about my own creative process here, fearing that it would stifle it. But now I'm starting to think that it's worth attempting. So there will be posts about compositions I've been working on too.
I called this blog "Audio Divina" (after "Lectio Divina") because of how music connects with my faith in Jesus Christ. I've long intended to write on here about specific pieces of music as an aid to prayer, Bible reading, and devotion... even about how listening to music can be an act of worship... and maybe I'll get around to writing more about that some day!
